About The Hurricanes
Holmes Chapel Hurricanes F.C. was founded in 2000 by Chris Rogers, when he set up a team to enable his son and friends to play football. With a single team, as well as manager, Chris became club chairman, supported by his wife Jackie who was club secretary. Chris stood down as club chairman after 13 years, leaving a great legacy for the village.

Since 2000, the club has grown massively, and for the 2022-23 season, we will have a total of 35 squads covering youth football (U8s-U18s), two Open Age teams, two Vets teams, a Women's team, five Girls' teams and Walking Football. The youth teams are members of the Mid-Cheshire Youth Football League, the Open Age teams, Vets and Walking Football are a member of their respective Cheshire Leagues, the Women's team play in the Inspire League and the Girls teams are members of the Cheshire Girls Football League.

Since 2012 all the team management and committee have worked hard to put processes and procedures in place to allow the Hurricanes to apply for Charter Standard status. In June 2013 we were very proud to achieve notification from the FA that we had achieved our ambition of the Hurricanes becoming an FA Charter Standard Club. We have come a long way since 2000 and no longer do junior players from Holmes Chapel and the surrounding villages need to go further afield to receive high quality football coaching, player development and competitive football.

To complement the existing junior and adult teams the Club runs a very active Soccer School for young players from age 3 to 7 including a Girls Only class for girls aged 7 to 11. The Soccer School runs on Saturdays from 9-10am at Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre on the 3G pitch and boys and girls of all abilities are welcome. FA qualified coaches deliver fun football skills sessions aiming at developing the children’s fundamental physical skills as well as their footballing skills – Ian Wilkes (Soccer School Director) and his coaches would love to see your children there.

Holmes Chapel Hurricanes are a true community club, and work closely in partnership with local schools and sports clubs, to whom we are dependent for use of pitches and facilities. We would like to thank Holmes Chapel Primary School, Hermitage Primary School, Lower Peover Primary School, and Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School for use of their pitches throughout the season as well as working closely with Cranage Parish Council to use and maintain the Cranage Playing Fields.

We are also fortunate to get excellent sponsorship from local businesses, all of whom are acknowledged on our website, so please do support them when you can. We also now have a fund raising link with the local Co-op branch in the village, to whom we are grateful for their support.

If you are interested in becoming an Hurricane – either joining the Soccer School or joining a team, contact details of the committee and team managers can be found throughout the website or you can fill in this Membership Form and someone will get back to you. If you are interested in becoming a club sponsor, please contact the Chairman, Tim Sheldon.

Becoming Investment Ready
The Hurricanes Committee are embarking on an exciting and ambitious project, chosen by the FA after a rigorous selection process, to be mentored by an FA Consultant to get the club 'Investment Ready'. Over the next few years, we will be communicating with everyone at the club as well as the wider community as our plans begin to come to fruition. Our ultimate vision is for our own ground and facilities, but whatever the eventual outcome, the Hurricanes will be in a very strong place to continue to deliver high-quality, accessible football to the local community for years to come.
